I recently visited Nevada City, CA, a historic town. Absolutely gorgeous little town. Much like Jerome, AZ, a place so old and so preserved, is bound to inspire some ghost stories.
Nevada City History Museum – This museum doesn’t only contain immediately local historical artifacts, but also from nearby Truckee, where the Donner Party met their infamous end. According to the book, The National Register of Haunted Places by Dennis William Hauck, a female ghost still plays a piano here.
The Museum is housed in a former Fire House. The city’s other fire house is still in operation – continuous use since just BEFORE the Civil War.

It wasn’t until after I left Nevada City that I visited TheShadowlands.net and learned that Nevada City boasts another haunted site – The National Hotel. By chance I snapped the following two pictures. The National Hotel is the green building on the right side of the road.
